The activities of the EEDC include:
Training economics teachers and teachers that integrate economics into their subjects. We believe that well-trained teachers will increase students’ interest in the subject, and the new generation will be economically literate. We promote the use of active learning methods, which allow for both learning the contents of the subject and developing students’ entrepreneurial skills.
Developing and introducing tools for teaching economics and developing entrepreneurial skills. Only with high-quality contemporary teaching materials, the teachers will be enabled to teach economics well, integrate it into other subjects, develop students’ creativity and independence, communication and co-operation skills, planning, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Basic training in economics and entrepreneurship for people who have never had a course economics. As a mandatory subject in schools, economics was introduced only in 2003. Therefore, we plan to target people who finished schools before 2003, as a lot of them don’t understand the principles of market economy and the opportunities it provides.
Promoting economic education. People who wish to study learn the best. Thus, it is necessary to promote economic education and to explain why economics is important, how the acquired knowledge and skills can benefit each individual and society as a whole.
